that's some next level slimness ardeetee!

P said it though, and many of us on here have experienced it firsthand:
Rick's shearlings & thickly padded leather jackets just don't work right. It's a real shame, but like the Catholic church in Dogma, even Riq Owince is fallible.

Word. Too bad Ricky didn't learn from the Exploder shearling fiasco, superthick leather + extra long sleeves + ribbed cuffs dun werk so well.

Honestly to me a lot of the Rick leathers are pretty wack, and have awkward fits on most everyone. all of the thick ones, a lot of the shearling ones, etc. the main ones that work are the simple zip collarless ones, the moto ones (sometimes) and ofc the high collar.
not sure about the new asymetric leathers from s/s or f/w though.
I think its a common fiasco and a product of this board that a designer and item (ie rick+ leather or julius+leather) gets jocked and then everyone takes that good word to find whatever examples of that item, and ends up with all of the many ones that didnt work. happens to me- end up a different kind of victim- hype victim.

RO leather nearly always looks bloated in the stomach area IMO, I guess it's just the way he cuts them...

          • i was with almroth when he tried it, and I swear, he would not have been able to zip up a S. the M fit like a glove all tight and fitted in the back, and the stiff sleeves are a product of the material, which is a synthetic foam, covered with wool, which is covered with blistered lamb. so it's basically a scuba jacket glazed in leather. It's not supposed to fit like his shrinkwrap jackets. I like it.

oh well, I've been thinking and realized I (and SZ, apperantly) might prefer the unpadded version. PM if anyone bigger is interested in it/have the unpadded in M for sell/trade. thanks.

do not despair almroth; I think the padding goes well with the volume created by the high collar and prefer the minimized detailing on the blistered version, but as others have pointed out it can look a bit awkward on some, especially in the shoulder area.

Thats kinda part and parcel with what is appealing to me about some of his outerwear - along with relatively skinny arms, high armholes. The roomy bodies lend a nonchalance. I own the bombers pictured below in medium and both have pretty roomy/bloated bodies but it makes it for me in combo with the non-stiff material that falls and the high armholes and relatively narrow arms. I'm not that tall- 6feet and <150 pounds..probably could have been fine with smalls but it still works fine. I only got a glimpse of the bomber on the previous page but seemed like the arm width to body width wasn't a good ratio but perhaps otherwise could have been fine. I actually don't care for the tighter RO jackets.

I agree about the fit of jackets- some look better when not worn extra tight.
but to me leather is different- a baggy leather jacket is just different in terms of look- so you have to really want that, you dont want to end up there by accident

                            sounds good.

Disagree on RO jackets with the rest - love them precisely because of the slimming cut.
