This also brings up another point I'd like to hear other SZ'rs thoughts on. How do you normally answer or react when someone asks you how much a specific garment was or where you bought it?
As much as I like basking in a new purchase I've yet to find a way to state my shoes cost over a thousand dollars without sounding like a bit of a twat...
If someone asks how much an item of clothing costs (ex. boots). I'll reply with, "well, let's just say they're worth more than the feet in them."
I hate it when people ask about prices without really caring about anything else than the number. its one thing if for example someone from here asks because I know they might have a genuine interest in the garment. but when someone who has a completely different aesthetic asks "how much was that leather jacket dude", I can't bother to reply anything else than "enough" or "a fair amount". its the same as the type who ask how much your salary is.
"AVANT GUARDE HIGHEST FASHION. NOW NOW this is it people, these are the brands no one fucking knows and people are like WTF. they do everything by hand in their freaking secret basement and shit."
oddly (a pleasant surprise) i've never been asked flat out how much any of my clothes cost. then again i don't really own anything that looks overtly and distinguishably lavish, not to mention none of it even fits properly.
i see a guy pretty much daily by my office in 3 or 4 different rick jackets and drkshdw jeans. usually look each other up and down. this thread is getting a bit missed encounters/homoerotic edition.
Ok time to fess up. I saw you today at the post office. Would have said hi, but I was doing an order with the coke rep.
haha, was gonna say hi - but i was running errands for gravity pope, and definitely dressed in gravity pope stock-room attire [read: like a hipster douche]
