The most oft asked question I heard from strangers these past few months was, "are you really warm in that?" It's been a brutal winter and they are surprised to see someone not wearing the bulky Canada Goose jackets that is the norm around here.

That's true too. My first 6 months here I spent working at a studio in SoHo (Spring St) and now I work in Chelsea. SoHo was filled with tourists so I guess it isn't fair to take a sample of people from there and call them New Yorkers. I did see a guy in RO from head to toe in SoHo. But he was an employee from the DRKSHDW popup store that was nearby. I also saw someone in a 5-zip once, but that was it for my 6 months there haha.

The heart of SoHo is filled with tourists - it's more normcore from the American tourists and Moncler from European tourists than anything. I detest the heat with all my being. No black tops for me in the summer. Just white. I do black/dark shorts and black footwear, but that's about it with black in the summer for me.
Also I wish I knew about McNally when I was working in SoHo. Sounds like a great spot to read and eat some lunch.Comment

im with ya on that one. I passed up a job opportunity in southern Arizona because I knew that summer temps creeped up to 120+.
