Well, I got my heart broken today (not really, but it sucked), when I called the RO store in Paris to make my first order but was told they wouldn't do VAT return on orders and the shipping was 100Euro! (granted, it is fed ex overnight) [:'(]
Looks like I'll be ordering in the States afterall! A here I come.

I've been visiting once every now and then for the past months and just wanted to say you've got a great forum here!!
I absolutely love that LUC jacket. Any chance I could get that in Europe somewhere (Amsterdam / Berlin / Antwerp)? Do you have any more detailed pictures?

Welcome to SZ. Are you referring to the LUC blazer? Because the leather jacket is Giorgio Brato.

welcome to the forum!
regarding luc retailers, Ulf Haines in berlin carries the brand, not sure if they have the jacket but worth checking anyways. Daad Dantone and Antonioli are two stores in Milan that also carry luc. I'm afraid those are the only ones I can think of, someone else can add to the list.

Are those LUC pants made of moleskin? that would be cool. The rise seems quite lower than all the other LUC pants I've seen also. The knit is quite cool also and those (bomber?) jackets are nice too. Hopefully I'll be able to see more of it when I'll be in NYC this fall, btw, is Atelier the only store stocking them there or is it a Barneys too (it is in Tokyo...).
Harvey's in Berlin also carries LUC (his store is so jam packed with stuff you don't know what is what!) so you can call him up as well. Both Ulf and Harvey are great guys with flawless english. Ulf does tax deductions but Harveys doesn't in case that makes any difference for you.

do you mean for the RO stuff? that wont help much, anyone in europe would have to pay VAT anyway, plus shipping first in eu then to the US, price would be close to the same. only advantage would be avoiding customs charges in the US by marking the value down, if they're unwilling to do that at RO?

Very true. You would have to get someone who is visiting to get it and when they are leaving, get the VAT back and ship it within the US for it to be of any savings.
Funny you should say that Mike, because that is the one cool thing they do, is mark items samples for shipment. :)
