It's funny, I miss the same people I missed a few years ago: Cloak, Hedi, Helmut. Either I haven't been into fashion as much since or no one particularly noteworthy has left fashion in awhile.

I miss the Hedi-era as well. I have never been so interested in fashion since. I remember back then I would hang out on the DH msn forums and search eBay in hope of getting a good deal. I haven't bored to do anything like that since. I'd still like a DH leather or cashmere corsage. Since then I've sold pretty much all my DH. The only thing I have left is a slim blazer, a shirt, at skinny tie and a pair of 4,5 cm cuban heels. I'm keeping it for posteritys sake, but haven't worn any of it in years.

          HWith I agree....

Not only Hedi......the whole package how Dior Homme was presented in his era was something I really miss in men's fashion today...

Like many of us, I miss the old Raf. He had Mr captivated for such a long time, always sitting on the edge of my seat watching his latest runway...im not really sure what is going on in his head these days

When New York had a king called Emperor Helmut Lang,
                When creativity flowed here,
When Theyskens was an icon and a forever talent
When McQueen was alone atop of the ladder
When Chalayan did the fashion show that closed the chapter on fashion shows
When Gaultier showed the Gaul that made him top Tier

when H&M Zara and all these garbage were irrelevant
                when Fashion had soul..............................
“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”

These are wise words. I share all of these feelings, and the Hedi one mentioned here so often too.

Good old Raf, sigh, will you ever return?

Overall I wish everything would be a little slower, no pre-season, mid-season or special things, just small and nice collections without so much filler stuff.

                      So too hope, endlessly burning,
                      Following its ethereal course,
Leaves in space the forms of the Universe,
                      Smoky vestiges,
Mortal recollections of its divine being.

McQueen with Lee. He only became better and better towards the end.
Galliano at Dior. Second hero gone.
Olivier Theyskens theatricality. I was hoping he'd be the one following Galliano at Dior.
                        Hussein Chalayans late 90's.
Bernhard Willhelm when he wasn't doing just hoodies and spandex suits, but actually wearable and funnily enough, elegant garments.

I would love to see a revolution happen within my lifetime as well :)

Hedi Slimane and Number (N)ine for men.

The feeling of wearing a Yohji outfit for the first time. It's great to get used to it and really live in it, but that first feeling was priceless.

I wish I could have been there at the first runways of CDG and YY in Paris.

And as a general remark, as it's something I never really knew from a gone time, I like the idea of getting dress up to go out in the evening, when being elegant was natural and didn't scream "trying too hard".

Definitely Slimane, both at YSL and DH (missed out on some great stuff, but I was way to young and poor to get Hedi's YSL)

Helmut Lang too. Never really had the body type to wear his jeans for example, but I still own three pairs of black shoes bought between 2003 and 2005, they are still in perfect shape (I had to do a few repairs, but I've worn the shit out of them, and they are still kicking...)
Most notably a pair of black patent leather shoes bought in 2003, only recently started showing slight crackles.
