The lord has heard my prayers.

"Abercrombie & Fitch shuttered 71 U.S. doors last year, plans to close roughly 180 additional U.S. stores by 2015.

That means the company, which already shuttered 135 stores over the past two years, is on track to cut its U.S. store count by 315, or 29.1 percent, over the five-year period leading up to 2015. The firm currently has 946 domestic stores."

I wouldn't take my tea tepid, let alone my lover.

Thus us Asians have to shoulder the burden now. They just opened a flagship store in my town (not London), and ran a video ad on a five-storey high billboard right next to it.

An excerpt from Brydon 1998 about the shoes worn by academics:

'Such a striving for blandness is an extension of the Cartesian mind-body split. To draw attention to the body by means of stylish or somehow 'extravagant' clothing would be to suggest a diminished intellectual capacity. The great mind of the genius, so this logic goes, is indifferent, indeed oblivious to the body and its ornament. Scholarly authenticity, then, is coded in footwear notable for its unnoteworthiness.'
