its a wool hook eye shirt with a leather collar, placket add chest (bib?) also has a curving leather strip extending from the shoulder down each arm.

Carol's early work is really not that great. He didn't really come into his own until 2003-ish. The silver mesh tagged CCP pieces are late 1990's and Carol really hadn't mastered his signature fabric and look at that point. Anything you buy from that early era is just reminiscent of the ultrasharp, polished-yet-raw work that we know him to have now.

Coat is from 1999/2000.

Everything great including the background, and I agree with you that not all the old ccp is inferior. Then again, Christian, I'm sure you could even take a jacket from 1899 and wear it well.

My problem with pre y2k Carol is the cuts. The body style has been maintained in his classic coats (like the one you're wearing there) but the sleeves were always a smidgen short for my taste (and height)
