I used to own a ma+ aviator and the volume added by the hood is my favorite effect on this kind of pieces.
I mean, it echoes to the pleated torso and this snug collar doesnt look that good in my opinion.
Anyway this inner layer is still insane!

Pnod, the aviator seems a bit short. :( I don't understand why MA+ insists on such short length. Maybe it's the contrasting long tee that exacerbates the shortness? I think if you chop off a bit of a sleeve, it would also like nicer. Why not, you already decapitated it.

its a marc jacobs henley cashmere knit from 06 and close to the length of dick's l/s shirts so its exaggerated but it is a bit short. maybe i'll style lab it and try a different look....the sleeve has the built in gloved action which i like. yeah proportionally all this stuff is fucked but thats the avant garde age were living in...

Chopping the hood on that piece was a great move. The neck on that piece is way too high and tight for a good transition from body to hood. Looks sick now.

Not a big fan of the 3D gramps chest pockets but that's just me. Overall, badass material and lining especially.

And if IIRC, chopping the hood may pre-empt the FW 2011 ma+ collection which I am certain contains at least one aviator style hoody without the hoody

Interesting move nod, I mean it makes sense...I have the same piece and the hood is stupid tight, but I do like the look of it unworn and it layers well under the bison aviator..haha

good news for next season: hood is perfected and functional, heavy weight japanese jersey we all know and love is back, but this time with the modern aviator cut. There is a leather that echos the chopped look of your aviator, slim and clean, less bulky that the shell leather motos in the past. All the classics have been improved, new colors as well..only catch will be the prices. I will have our pictures up soon...

edit - and I for one, love the short body fit of the jackets...just sayin
