I find that to be a bit of a knee jerk reaction due to the look of the pants myself but thats just my opinion. Its not a trainwreck, just a proportion problem as far as I can see

Raw: The pieces on their own are nice but mixed together they dont mesh well at all. Loosely fitted pants with a snug moto and snug boots looks awkward.

I dont see any issues with the colors either, its essentially all black with a pop of color from the shirt. I like the spot of color, too often we are incilined to go for only grey and shades thereof.

A pair of slim denim in a dark grey or black tucked in would complete the moto outfit IMO

Thats true, I was negating the pants from my observation as they are the piece that I feel kills the outfit, I was reffering to the rest of the pieces

I should have elaborated, as the pants I suggested to go with the outfit are a black or dark grey, and not the color he is currently wearing...

Actually, I really like the contrast the lighter shoes give, it provides a nice counterpoint and it makes more of a feature of them.
