I've had this LM'Altieri "skirt" -- it's several layers of washed poplin with the layers secured using...office supplies. I once had a garment very similar to this shown to me as a poncho, but to me, this is clearly best as a skirt. (Though I should admit, if the designer is willing to use office supplies to hold the skirt together, the piece could be anything really.)

I've styled it apron style, a la Harnden, and I'm wearing it with an InAisce Sumor Channeling vest over the ensemble. The vest is a piece that was originally shown on a male model in all the in-house images -- more evidence that Jona's men's designs is just as well on women for the most part. (If I recall, this piece was picked up principally by men's retailers.)

The alley, the sunglasses, I find that, once again, the aesthetic feel of the outfit, your body etc are quite fine but all together the cultural associations it conjures are really unseemly or even creepy. This may be fine by you but considering that if you remove something we're back to an eccentric but less determined outfit.

That's really interesting, and I think your impression is valid, whether or not it makes sense to anyone else. I also don't think it was a criticism of the fit, just your reaction that doesn't necessarily mean much to anyone else. I didn't get that vibe personally, but these things are formed by associations we have with past experience and everyone has had different experiences. Our sense of smell is almost entirely based on past associations...

Shuit, what do you pair them with besides geobaskets. I find them hard to wear with any outerwear because they are such a strong piece in themself.
