You would love the things that have been coming out of my new sous vide machine. Damned learning curves.

i wouldn't be too hard on yourself, i think that can be a fairly common problem even with expert sous-vide....

i had big plans for a head of broccoli and a green apple this evening
but wound up going out for ramen and hot sake instead

i had one in oz with rootbeets, fried eggs, onion rings, some spicy sauce, and loads of other things i cannot seem to remember. all i remember was that it was a symphony.

I'm gonna make a plum tarte tonight.

Just popped it into the oven.

          Came out pretty well:

We are still getting rain followed by fews days of sun that cycles til rainy season is over. Therefore here in n.california it has been a great mushroom year. Must have picked couple pounds chanterelles and i get lucky now and again and stumble on morels. Nothing like eating morels from your own yard. If ever north of San fransisco in late winter i suggest mushroom walk for any chef/non chef. From oyster mushrooms to hedgehogs they are here for your eating pleasure.

Thanks very much Laika and endersgame. Laika is correct, it is a spring form pan. I really need one of those tart pans though, would making forming the edge of the tart/making it decorative a lot easier.

That's really great, interest1. Fresh fruit straight from the back yard is best. I must admit that my method of picking fruit from the local whole foods wasn't as charming.
