  • A little greeting from Iceland where I am now residing. Click the picture to hear something I composed at the harbour, with a view of the bay and mountain Esja on the other side.

Listening to it right now :)

The build up is different from carsick, which took slower to reach it's peak. This one just goes from the start. I haven't been to Iceland before, but I would imagine that it sounds like this. Love it.

          EDIT:
I feel like there is a lost boat,
          and
the lighthouse is guiding them in
          It was rainy,
the calmest storm there ever was
          but,
the waves were hitting the shore much rougher than usual

          In the waters
a thousand fish drew a path
lit by the eye of God
          The fishermen were bemused
          to see the sand
          and
          as the light clears
          with the water silent
They tried to sleep the longest sleep, a stone's throw from the sea

The second last one is very good, Thomas. Purchase-worthy.

edit - was inspired by Tumnus after thinking about his art and whipped up this pseudo-poem:

                "Scenes From A Diner"

                “Would you like Divorce,
                Or the Horse?”
                Asked the French woman
                In a sheer draping blouse.
                Her husband thought about it,
                Then returned after conferring
                With the take out counter,
                And he asked her back,
                “Moyen? Or Mild?”

It was lunch hour in the area
                When the construction crew
Came in to dish and dine.
“This is almost how they make
The curry back home in Pakistan.”
                “Vindaloo? What’s that?”
                “Some like it hot, Tony.”

The boy sat in front of two pizzas
Next to thick-wristed Jim and Joan,
                Who wondered aloud about him:
                “Is he bulimic?”
                To which the boy responded
By sticking his tongue out at them.

appreciate your feedback so far, thanks.

this is an excerpt of a much more capacious composition that can be viewed here (no title yet)

is the artwork the photograph, or that thing itself?

████████, i like that image of the structure-it looks very becher. the high-noise i guess is your signature. but i would prefer to see the entire picture uncropped with the sky included. i want to see the over-blown atmosphere that surrounds it..

will it be printed? silver or pigment?

enders, is that level of noise achievable through shooting digital, without processing? If so, how?

possibly, by setting the camera at it's highest sensitivity (iso). but the results are different from sensor to sensor. the noise in ████████'s image looks post-processed (it's very sharp). maybe ████████ can clarify how this was achieved..

a friend of mine has a digital camera with a faulty sensor. part of the image would melt and distort in a grotesque way, while other areas would remain normal. you could not really post process this, it was all in-camera. the results were completely random every time the camera took a picture. i wanted to buy it but he never wanted to part with it, lol..

hmm yeah that's what i figured. usually intentional high-iso noise in digital does not look as pleasing and consistent thorughout the image.

i remember that anecdote, the broken camera that took the most beautiful images and you told the guy not to fix it.

looking to cop a 5D Mark II later this week and return the 400D, hopefully can try out more digital experimental photography then with more professional results.
