Our beloved Frenchie passed away last night... it came as a total shock.I don't know all the details just yet, but we think it was related to a couple seizures he suffered (from which he recovered) a few weeks before he and Campbellleft to Berlin.

Very, very sad news and a terrible loss for Campbell and Komakino...

Re: BEER (the wonderful world of)

My condolences to you( Jon and Graham) and and as a dog owner it is beyond unfair when we lose an a friend whom does nothing but love and smile and beg for bacon....in reference to the thread; anyone like Samuel Smiths..UK beer, Porter, Stout and Organic Ale...I find it very satiating.
It has been a very difficult year

Re: BEER (the wonderful world of)

Thanks so much everyone. I doubt many of you had the pleasure of meeting him buthe was like family so your support means a lot to us. [51]

It's a bit surreal for me because it happened on the other side of the world, but thinking that I will never see that little guy again brings a tear to the eye...

[B] I dedicated a Guinness to the little guy last night. May he rest in peace.

                      Thanks again.

Re: BEER (the wonderful world of)

This has become a consistently sad one. Such a pity for a beer thread. We all know beer is meant to make us happy. My condolences!

                        Anyway, couple of unusual ones:

Hakusekikan Crystal Ale (Barley Wine technically) - tastes like a very lightly carbonated beer version of Sauternes. Very unusual, quite nice.

Ozenoyukidoki Heavy Heavy - Mild barley wine. Tastes like someone toned down some of the often overblown nice characteristics of barley wine.

I'd recommend both of these if you can find them. Japanese microbrew IPAs pretty much suck though.
