Can anyone recommend a half-decent club? Friends want to go out and I haven't been clubbing in ages. I think that the Internet (instant info on cool) has killed the NYC clubbing scene, but is there anything these days that a) possible for mortals to get into b) not filled with meatheads? Preferably where you can have dinner and dance in the same place (but doesn't have to be). I guess something along the line of what Lotus used to be like years ago...

I went there on my last trip to NY, the floor was covered in balloons and Andrew WK was DJing. It was kinda silly but definately a good time.

I said hi to him in passing and later he came and sat down at our table and chatted for like 15 minutes. He's about the nicest guy you could ever meet.

                        BUMP

I'm finally making the move. I will be there at the end of March to look for design work and a place to live.

Is it possible to get a decent (clean) studio or one bedroom for $1500/month?

Very cool. How come? I thought you had a good gig where you are.

One bedroom, not really. A studio, possibly maybe.

It turned out that the company I was working for didn't know how to run that kind of business and I wasn't enjoying designing golf ball displays.

I'm moving to New York for better job opportunities, access to more like-minded people, and to be closer to friends in Europe.

Plus after nearly four decades in the Pacific Northwest, I need a change.

Yes, I pay just a little more than that and I have a great one-bedroom in the East Village. And before that apartment I had a smaller studio in the East Village for $1275. I can send you my broker's information if you want, he's really great.

^Really? I've been thinking of moving and can't even find a decent share for under $1500.
