I don't get this dude, to be honest (just like I don't get Nick Cave). Enlighten me.

What did you think of the new monkeys album? I am split, but I think it will grow on me. I only heard it twice, and I will listen to it tonight with lyrics in hand.

Tim Buckley (Jeff's dad) was a folk/jazz musician famous for his experimental approach to music and his voice register and falsetto, also for being a rebel and a bad boy, the guy died at 28. Several years later, Jeff, started to happen and to gain fame first for being Tim's son and second for his talent as a experimental musician (bluesy/jazz/rock), for having an educated voice with a particular tone and for being a very passionate live performer. He drowned at 30 while swimming in the time of the recordings of his second album.
He could be a great musician, but same as his father, ended as a legend with a tragic story.

I'm starting to dig the Arctic Monkeys album, just hear it once, need a couple of listenings more, like it, it's slower and more experimental, miss the juvenile energy and noise of the past efforts but hope time will tell.

I'd like to introduce you to a band who's been for almost 20 years too much underground. Maybe one of the most underrated rock band of the 90's : Swell.
