I think there's just a lot of hype, period. I wasn't really familiar w/ him but picked up the singles comp on In The Red to see what he was about. It's alright... won't get a ton of spins on my end though. For a bit I wondered if he was some sort of like Pitchfork-lovable crossover version of the whole "shitgaze" aesthetic, but I think his recordings aren't fucked up enough to fall into that category, so maybe we're just ready for another powerpop/garage revival?</p>
How limited are those Matador singles, anyways? Maybe I'll love him more if there's few enuff. I may spend the next year buying things released in pressings of 300 or fewer, because that's what makes the music good. [79]</p>

That singles comp is alright, but Blood Visions is terrific...have you listened to that?
