So, after a long wait, I finally received my custom-made book-case. I also repainted my living room white(ish). As you can see I was running out of room for books and I wanted a more minimal/current looking setup.

You are probably wondering where is the Rick Owens book. It and a bunch of others (three on McQueen, Chalayan, BBS, Iris van Herpen, two on Yohji, and Gothic, and Fashion at the Edge) are in my hallway's niche display.

Thank you. This was some random thing I found on Craigslist while looking for "reclaimed wood" lol. I stained the wood black myself. Excuse the basil plant - that's where it goes to get some sunshine.

The more I get acquainted with interior design, the more I realize that the bones of the place - the walls, the floor - are more important than the furniture. You can do a lot with a little if you get the bones right.

Might be a bit different from the other posts in this thread, but I just found this and I love it -- overview of design of Aesop's various retail locations: Taxonomy of Design

I will say that shopping at Aesop was one of my more memorable retail experiences. I've been to the Manhattan, Boston, and Taipei locations, and each have been very distinct.
