Watching Jacob Protozanov's Aelita. It's quite enertaining vintage russian sci-fi and the costumes are very cool
The story is super corny, but then it often is in silent movies. The character of the amateur policeman is very funny

I hope Avatar fails. Production budgets are out of control and studios just want projects that can turn 400+ million in box office revenue; no thought towards smaller budgets and films. Fox Searchlight is a joke and only Sony Pictures Classic is somewhat true to the game, but its no longer the days of old.

Yeah I'm really curious to see how Avatar plays out at the box office. I'm surprised and impressed he even managed to come up with something after T2 and then Titanic in the same decade.

Thanks, enjoyed this small production! Story about going crazy, seeing everything in another perspective and becoming non-social is really awesome for a short-film.

I know, everyone (gross over generalization) loves a Hollywood blockbuster spectacle. I wouldn't mind this, if I was any good at computers and proficient in CGI tech; but my fondest memories are cutting away on the ol' Steenbeck

I have nothing against a well done popular film, like Lord of the Rings or Matrix, that combines action and cinematography with an interesting story that has certain philosophical or moral underpinnings worth considering. But this seems like a straight shoot-em up overload, a la Matrix 2/3.
