Rick makes sleeves long enough for my simian arms. If I can get those cheaper I'm all for it ;)

                Re: RICK OWENS

I've always wondered if Rick Owens' clothing looks decent on shorter people..

Being a short asian, I've never really given his stuff a try fearing it would just make me look stumpy, but I recently saw a short guy in San Francisco rocking RO (at least I think it was RO) and it actually looked pretty good!

I guess pulling off RO has more to do with being skinny than tall?

Insights from any SZers of shorter stature? :)

                    Re: RICK OWENS

Being skinny and/or tall certainly doesn't hurt, but I don't necessarily think it's a pre-requisite to wearing the clothing well. But again, it certainly doesn't hurt.

                      Re: RICK OWENS

I think that goes for most designers, not just Rick Owens. But from what I've heard, Rick himself isn't very tall at all (under 6' at least) and he looks amazing in his own clothing. Now, granted, he wears his huge high heel boots all the time. [75]

Plus Rick's in amazing shape... judging from how frequently he likes to get photographed unclothed.

Yea, he is in great shape. I remember reading some article about how he was completely into weight lifting and all of that (I think when he was still in LA). Despite some who might not like that kind of built physique it sure takes dedication! I give it up to him for that.

although he is now getting serious competition from marc jacobs in the being photographed half-naked department.

so maxfield has the rick owens book.

there is on open copy out that you can page through.

BUT maxfield is selling it for a ridiculous 560!!! while atelier has it for 350! don't understand that one.

and now that i have paged through it, i honestly don't think i will buy it because it was ALOT smaller than i thought it was (not THAT much content),

and it seems more like a 75 dollar book to tell you the truth.

i looked through the book. i didn't feel that impressed. some of the images are cool but not mind blowing. if it was smaller it would be unimpressive in content and quality. big books, especially fashion ones, always veil a lack of substance w the exception of helmut newton. owens surely drew from newton's approach on this one. i wouldn't buy this book, rather have a tank.

One wonders where it will end, when everything has become gay.
