Not sure if this is of interest to anyone (or in the right thread), but it looks like a selection of the current season's boots have a new sole. Hopefully this is to address the issues people were having?

Strange thing is, the boot I like that no one else does...with the floppy pocket on the side...on one site, has the new sole, and on another, has the old. The one with the new sole is more $$$, although that could just be due to the shop's being in different countries, etc.

well your 2 links were of different shoes for sure, one is the boot the other is the sneaker boot which he does one every season, it has the same sole as the trainers. Which I prefer.

It says Xtra Lite. I think it sucks. Obviously it is super light, but it feels pretty cheap and not nearly as substantial as the previous sole. I'm probably in the minority, but I liked how his boots felt heavy on the feet. It may wear better though.

Not sure if this is accurate, but I heard this might be a seasonal thing going forward. Heavy soles for FW, and then these lighter ones for SS.

The new sole and construction looks more durable, but also much more ugly. Why don't they just use Vibram ?

I think 'chunky soles' are as difficult to swallow as reversed stitching. Just reminds me of the 90s in a bad way. All of those pseudo utility shoe brands that just took sneakers and threw on a chunky traction sole to make them look industrial or something. I mean it's not 'LUGZ' territory but I see the traction seems to get a bit more substantial by the season.

It's one thing to do those in black. It's kind of offensive to see them in white. Kind of reminds me of something you'd see at a grunge band concert in 1994.

The original crepe was actually comfortable. It wore down faster but it was worth it for the comfort and the styling. The fake crepe (cracking aside) was solid and wore well and looked good.

The footwear in general when compared to 08 or so looks like it was designed by a completely different person. Fortunately, I am stocked up on the old shit.
