In complete agreement with beardown how combat boots should look like



First they fucked it up in 2008 with that cheap-looking welt and traction sole. Both of which seem to have no purpose apart from planned obolescence.

Now, they go further and add contrast stitching to some cheapskate sneaker sole. Then complete the manufacturing clusterfuck with some stitching on the sole itself, just in case it doesn't hold together. What's next, staples and screws ?



It should be pointed out that the shape of newer Rick boots is hardly unique or his invention, my girlfriend has some 10+ years old no-name boots made in Spain with exactly the same shape. I've seen the traction pattern he uses on some Prada boots, no idea how durable it was there. So, I've decided to ignore his footwear. As far as classical designs remakes go, there are better made, durable and comfortable alternatives:

2) find a group of skinheads. Ask them to explain Doc Martens to you

The version before that, with nubuck leather and leather sole was even better. I still kick myself for not getting it. Such a classic - what a dumbass I was...
