I'm not convinced that the quality is getting better on the whole. Last season I bought a pair of army boots which I returned after they started falling apart (they only took one light walk down to the store). The glue was unsticking on the tongue and the leather was peeling away from itself. The stitching was coming undone on one seam, leaving a hole. Maybe I just got unlucky.

My geobiker boots from a couple of years ago are still holding up strong with regular wear.

I have been increasingly enjoying wearing Rick Owens in my own way. I don't care for sneakers, shorts, or drop-crotch - the three elements that have become RO staples. The last few pieces I bought - the peacoat, the bauhaus with the fur color and nylon sleeves - no one else I know of bought. Even the staples that I have are unique versions (the geo is white, the aforementioned bauhaus is not the straight version). I like it!
