worn my pair 4 times, very lightly just around the shop.

The inside of the left has come unglued from the sole about 5 inches.
And the right tongue sits completely off center.

I've taken to wearing mine without laces recently but was getting bothered by how 'loose' they would get (i wear mine with the pants over the tongue so when it was released it kept getting stuck in my pants and looking a bit odd) so I clipped about 10 inches of lace from an old pair of shoes and stuck it through the top two lace holes and tied a small bow and tucked it just behind the lace opening flap. You can't see it at all with the cropped trousers I wear so it makes them pretty slim again without a conspicuous lace but even if you wear them with pants tucked behind the tongue it's hardly noticeable if you have a white pair and the old pair's laces are dirtied up to match the slightly-dirty looking 'milk' leather color.

This is the biggest fatal flaw of most sneakers.

Some, a very select few, don't have this problem.

That said I always guessed DMT would've fallen into the latter category. I mean...look at how much space they already occupy and the relative mass of the tongue, exactly how mobile can be?

Glad I never got around (too broke) to follow through on my fantasy of copping a pair of these, and those drawstring pants that apparently stretch a billion inches.

That's one common thing I've seen - it seems as soon as anyone cops a pair of these, they end up taking them to a cobbler.
Is it because of poor design? (stapled at the heel)
Or beause they just want to make sure to minimize wear since they're a 'collector's item' . . .
(a dubious status given their growing proliferation . . .)

I've owned but never really worn em in (as evidenced by my sig)

I think people must walk differently than I do because I wear the absolute hell out of my pair and nothing has come unglued and the sole isn't looking particularly worn down and the staples haven't come loose. Only thing that's come apart was arguably my fault when I was in a hurry and ratcheted my foot out of the shoe too hard and unstitched some inner leather.

People are starting to get hip to the wave and not puttin these suckers on sale.

Pretty sure the only changes you will see in the price tag is in the upwards direction, not the opposite.

They may be gaining popularity but they are very very very far from uggs status. How often do u see them in the real world? Especially outside nyc/la?
