Those shorts are god awful. And it took me a while to notice the two zippers on the side... man. what`s the thought process behind going out like this? Oh wait, there probably is none.

I must be crazy, for the longest time I thought that brand was called H1-B (as in the visa status), was started by an Indian dude, and was reverse commentary on outsourcing production of clothing to other countries, hence the overt branding. Must have read a parody article somewhere haha

Aesthetics aside, I find HBA's success weirdly fascinating in terms of the fashion zeitgeist (not be confused with style zeitgeist :-))

Heavy "fashion rapper" hype and a large supply of Instagram kids with too much money were probably their catalyst imo. As to what's keeping HBA going I'm not sure...

^ Yeah. Again this is just a case of "monkey see, monkey do".

The hype will dry up pretty soon and something equally dumb will fill the void.

Today I learned k-pop idols wear a lot, and I mean A LOT of HBA, and of course their fans (which audience is unbelievable large and dedicated for my understanding) start to wear it too. Unfortunately, mostly fakes, since it's really easy to knock off: and there are a lot of websites selling HBA/Pyrex/so-called ghetto-gothic style clothes specifically aimed at k-pop fans audience.

In what way? How heavy branding leads itself to popularity? Or just the Pyrex-level of cult-like love that HBA gets?

To be fair, the stuff shown on the HBA runway shows are kind of interesting. At least when all they're known for are black tees/sweats with HBA plastered on them. Stylistically (not counting philosophy or whatever) much cooler than Off-White/Pyrex.

Lokhi, in the way of how something becomes popular, where it comes from, how it spreads, and what is accepted as fashion in general.
