Psychological barrier, I assume. As a mere consumer I found myself struggling to contact the designer press office/sales department, always being afraid of going as stockist representative or something like this. You, as a person much more involved in fashion industry, have a different point of view on this issue.

On the other side, direct implication to contact for stockists' lists on a designer very own webpage is a whole different thing, this is why I suggested it.
