I understand how the zipper can be a problem - I must admit I don't like it much myself - but as I've seen those several times IRL I can assure you the material is not as light as you see it.

I'm so dissapointed : I thought that all the sandals haters would be happy to see some boots. I have been unaware of that the DD boots' hate could even be stronger !

Should I replace the previous pic with this one, where at least one boot is subtly hidden ?

I find those DD zipper shoes offensive visually. It just doesn't work to have a material/color like that and split it down the middle with a bright, shiny zipper.
It creates a symmetrical line that visually overrides the rest of the outfit when visible.
They do look feminine but I don't think that's my problem with them as much as the bright, shiny line that goes up the foot.
Having said that, in the context of Christian's outfits, I don't mind them terribly. I would never try to pull them off but if anyone could, I think Christian gets the closest.

Agree on the boots, but love the sandals. I also think that Christian, your head is in a huge dissonance with the rest of the outfit (style-wise). Until those two will look cohesive I will always find these outfits a bit forced (and sure, I'm basing my opinion on the look of these shots, not rl or Christian's personality).

I imagine most of the forum won't agree with me, but hey, that's part of the fun.
