Re: FOOD!
Avant garde restaurants are great but do they keep you awake with cravings the way that the Swedish Meatballs and gravy from Ikea do?
Hell yes they do.

My girlfriend and I are planning a weekend trip to Chicago sometime in October purely to eat at Alinea and Moto. I've been dreaming about both places for a couple of years now at least!

      Re: FOOD!

Can someone recommend a small informal place for a glass of wine/a bit to eat downtown (for tonight)? Kinda tired of my usual suspects. TIA.

Maybe I'll just go to 'Ino [76] Xadam, have you tried that place in W.Village where the chef rocks Poell? Forget the name, White Lounge or something?

i'm on board with the centro reccomendation; i've eaten at the bar there a few times -- the gnocchi is very good.

for no good reason, i never made it to bar blanc while cesar was there.

coming soon: drink some wine from 2300 gallon wine tanks, walk over to RO / A v.2 and drop some drunken coin.
