Got the bad news that i was expecting early this morn.
My mother called to let me know that my grandmother passed away in Greece.
She was as tough as old boots! Poor woman had a series of small strokes,and had 2 get a leg amputated,but her body was still fighting!
Im gonna take a leaf out of her book and get down to some old school food remedies! I would often gasp at the sight of her swallowing whole cloves of garlic each morning.
Shit apart from the breath,it seems to keep you kicking for longer.

This is a woman who had brought me up,almost like my mother,the one i would run too when mum wanted to give me a slap with the slipper because i was naughty.
The woman who would slip me a sneaky £20 before i went out as a teen.
The woman who would walk into the living room with a tape measure,and ask my brother and i to put our "willies" on the table so she could measure how much they had grown!
A woman who was very prim,very proper,very chic but had a mischevous dirty mind!

R.I.P Yia Yia Anna,you will be sorely missed,as will your macaronia kai kima!
You are finally back with Papou Fonzy,but try not to do his head in,he has had it peaceful for the past 15 years.

my condolences shye, i hope you're fairing well, i lost my granfather the other year who was greek as well and it was a pretty heavy loss, good luck my friend, take care of yourself.

Cheers lads. Im not one for talking much but just needed to get off my chest quick!
Now teh search for flights starts,help mama prep for funeral on monday! Bloody greeks,everything takes them such a long time,except for burying people!

Its gonna be a tough one as she lived with us for most of my life,so once my collection is finished its dedicated to her,slicker than your average gran. Because if it wasnt for her i wouldnt have had the strength,time and support to be inspired and start my collection while i was in Greece.
