Some new psych I've been checking out -

Majutsu no Niwa: Overhang Party's Rinji Fukuoka's new band. Clip shows them in fuzz rock mode but not as ultra-fuzzed out as Acid Eaters or Nanjo Asahito's various projects - High Rise, Musica Transonic, Mainliner -, but still rather cool.

Jex Thoth: Old story. Grace Slick fronting Pentagram/Sabbath/Amon Duul 2?

Circulus: London-based minstrel psych-folk without the freak and the irony. Not as compelling as they could be. Pretty shite, actually.

The two of them clicked instantly when they met after the show–and apparently kept clicking, nonstop–behind the paper-thin walls of her bedroom.. The rest of the band actually left him behind and went on their own sabbatical down to LA.
Holy shit, talk about a trip down goth-rock memory lane.. Thanks, Servo!

It suffices to say she'll be gettin' a little call from me later this afternoon. Couldn't have fallen on a better day!!

I was at that show in Portland! I also hung out with Andi and the Gang backstage (aka the industrial sized Chinese kitchen of the venue they played in) in LA after their show. Good times!

            I don't know why...

...but lately I've been REALLY into The Sisters Of Mercy and Rosetta Stone.
They're great bands, but now it seems to do the trick.
            Oh! And Lou Reed.

Strange! I was there. I think it was at RCKCNDY in SE. Not only was I there I went backstage after the show to meet Andi and get some records signed (unfortunately, I lent them to a friend and never got them back). I think that was the summer of '91 or '92.

19 years ago we were at the same Sex Gang Children show. That blows my mind.

                    Man, this forum.

Been in a weird mood so it's been serious music comfort food. Queen, Nine Inch Nails, The Who, Deep Purple* ... everything i listened to with my dad on car rides as a child.

Also - I think I'm going to start a one-man The Human League cover band that exclusively covers Dare.

*I'm named after Ian Paice, the drummer.

You can say that. Whenever I wanted to check out Bardo Pond I did not know where to start. bcause of their large discography. I listened to "Dilate" when it came out but didn't want to start with the 6th album.

I'll check out the other stuff tonight. Don't Circulus have this medieval () touch?

                          .
20+ years and I still never tire of this King Snake Roost song.

I think someone posted this a while back, but the volume for it on YouTube sucks. Here's a better listen:

Another slab of vinyl buried in my basement back home. The music on my iPod now sucks in comparison. Still, I really should consider selling some of this hoard.

I've been listening to Aube - Magnetostriction

It's great to listen to while I am working, it helps set the mood.

How does interest1 et al. find e.g. Alec Empire under numerous guises and in collective sideprojects (Atari Teenage Riot, Curse of the Golden Vampire)?
