no joke, i love the shorts [64] shorts are the hardest item to look decent in. they are also the hardest item to exchange for a bunch of cash. they are the gutter of fashion, i guess.

My tip for shorts - buy pairof cheap straight-legged trousers from Gap. Get tailer to cut at about knee level or just above. Bingo.

still doesn't work for me for some reason, Johnny. Works with denim - I just buy any old pair of Levis and apply scissors liberally, but for fabric shorts something is always amiss. They are all either too dressy/preppy or too cargoish....

thats true, seems like shorts are always too gap/polo/preppy looking or too cargoish old navy style. I think it mostly depends on the colour, khaki or navy ones always end up looking really banana republic. also if they're really loose in the legs it looks pretty bad.
