Why Rick Owens never design / produce Shirts, Dress Shirts?

Just out of curiosity, It seems Rick Owens has never produced a dress shirt / button-down L/S shirt? (white, black?)

All other brands same level or similar style of RO did it before or regularly.

Have no idea why RO didn't. Just name it: Ann Dem has、Balenciaga,CCP,CdG,Dior Homme,Damir,KKA,LUC,M.A+,Julius,Raf Simons,Viridi-Anne,Y'S, Number (N)ine......

Rick isn't a shirt guy i can't see collars fitting into his universe. Even when I first saw a tailored blazer from him back in around 2006 I assumed it was to be worn with his tees or tanks. I suppose they could go with a longer loose shirt from elsewhere though.

To ask Rick to make a dress shirt betrays an absolute misunderstanding of his work. One would think that after a gazillion pages in this thread and countless interviews one would know better.

He made a dress shirt for the Drake collection, it was made of a sheer silk, much like the Blazers and Coats in the collection. I'll see if i can find a picture of it.

One wonders where it will end, when everything has become gay.

As with anything, there are certainly exceptions. But I have to agree with doldrum's blanket statement. Honestly PN...don't you think that the art world as a whole can be substituted for America in your signature?

So its fair to assume that a discussion of faith in the absence of reason is not in the cards for us? Haha!! Sorry to have derailed this thread with topic of antiquity.

May I add that people who play the visceral card against the intellectual one are usually on the reactionary side of the game ?

...too trite a foray into the realm of the obvious. Christian, didn't you want to spare us from treading this path or did I misread your prior post as an attempt to let sleeping dogs lie?

fashion can never be art. art deals with and is the human experience where fashion can only comment on it. Rick knows that too.

Misnomer if there ever was one. Not in a position to ascribe such things as ideas, ideals, etc..to an individual outside myself, but I would imagine Rick to know this.

I got it, I am just wondering same things happened in M.A+, CCP, LUC, DD and Julius, Undercover etc, they are not "shirt" guys as well, but they all did their signatured dress shirts season by season. ( even White Dress Shirts). I will post pics later.

If RO can design a series of furnitures, it's not so hard to make a dress shirt with his signatured designs. Plus, RO has already designed Blazers, Suits and Dress pants.
