Initially I loved those shorts/skirts, but now I'm not so sure. And how come there's already a DRKSHDW version of them? I thought only carry over staple items like the pod shorts were made as DRKSHDW, but these short-skirts are pretty much one of the center pieces of SS13 main line...

There have definitely been drkshwd renditions of the same item during the same season...last year's long skirt was produced in both lines at the same time. In that case, I believe many preferred the drkshdw version.

Yes, many seasonal pieces are rendered in the DRKSHDW line but in different fabrics/treatments. Leather becomes denim, wool becomes poplin, etc.

Just got mine today, you may want to be quick as these will be gone in a flash. It's a collaboration with Paul Kooiker, and doesn't really feature a single piece of Island. Very nice, very collectible.

Many thanks guys, you saved me a whole lot of waffling on the loin shorts.

Not entirely sure why people seem a little disappointed with them now that they're in stores. They're bound to look better in motion, as is the case with a lot of rick. I'm still trusting the runway videos more than the static detail shots we're getting now.

This is probably so minor and a foolish reason to complain but for some reason, I'm kind of annoyed with the zipper change haha!

I liked that the zipper was always the same (from when I first started with Rick Owens Stag collection)

It made all the seasons mesh together because the zipper designs matched.

Perhaps it's because I'm OCD but that small change throws me off.

Interesting. The boots appear to be using Excella zippers now, so he didn't just change the tab, but the brand used as well.

edit, this piece appears to use the old zipper (maybe drkshdw)?

The tornado boots on luisa seem to use the new zipper, but the wedges use the old (maybe they're last season?)
