Need a pair of new shoes, love A1923, but cannot spend 1K+: what you think about this two on sale? Anyone who got them?
A1923 – Peeling cordovan leather sneaker:
I'm still crazy about this silhouette, but I'm afraid of how peeling will look in 3 months?
(ps: peeled leather or a subtle black film?) http://www.nagnagnagshop.com/shop/footwear/14638
I actually have the peeled leather version of that shoe. I don't mind them but they are no where near an everyday pair of footwear for me. You could probably peel all of the "peeling leather" off and be left with smooth leather.

yes or no... or save some money and buy the "classic" ones at full price, next year!
Thanks
Not a fan of either model to be honest. I've never found peeling/destroyed leather to be very interesting. Well, destroyed leather sometimes, but peeled leather just feels very damaging, and not in a good way. Gives me thoughts of leather rot and stuff.
The second one is just very plain looking unless the entirety of the shaft is revealed. Perhaps look at a different model of shoes, or save up.
i disagree. i have the kangaroo pair with the straps and i strongly recommend them. the leather is great, the dye and treatment is great, the quality is superb, including the fact that there are no troublesome eyelets and fragile a1923 sneaker laces to contend with. this is a sneaker that will last forever as long as you protect the soles. i've worn them with and without the shaft exposed and they look great either way. i get complimented on them almost every time i wear them.
shitty waywt for reference
dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective
cjbreed i agree with you.I also own those A1923 sneakers and i have grown to love them and they work really well with my day to day looks.I own a lot of A1923 sneaks and those have become one of my favorite's.
