edit: I'm not trying to make generalizations about anyone's life in scandinavia. But I can romanticize it all I want, of course it's easy to complain about where you live but try living somewhere else first...
again, excuse me but again what the hell are you talking about?
your post doesn't even make sense. you are saying you are not generalizing about life in scandinavia. at the same time you are 'romanticizing it'. then to conflate your points further you proceed to tell ME to "try living somewhere else before complaining"?
you don't even know me. i've moved around a lot. i've lived in multiple countries for extended periods of time. why are you implying that i am uninformed when you are 'romanticizing' a whole region of europe?
sorry but your 'edit' kind of riles me here...

shucks, I was really only just giving you a hard time. wasn't meant as anything serious. I guess I used the wrong smiley. furthermore what I said wasn't at all in reference to the cost of your rent, rather to the supposed reputation y'all have for a certain standard of living. obviously we all know Scandinavia is the most expensive part of the world. I wasn't telling you to try living somewhere else...I was saying that to myself or to anyone else for that matter...it was a rhetorical question. And romanticizing means I'm admitting that I'm looking at it from an idealized, incomplete perspective...meaning I'm being ironic rather than serious.
So I made a stupid joke and it didn't work out. Everyone please relax...sometimes I feel like I have to walk on eggshells around here. It's my fault, I shouldn't have, etc. etc. etc.Last edited by genevieveryoko; 07-03-2011, 11:03 AM.
