yeh, I'm very happy with them (and not just because they're the first footwear I've bought recently which actually fits).
Whilst I'm predominantly a boots + shoes man, the odd trainer doesn't go amiss.
I've always found Rick trainers too bulky and just don't quite work with me. These are slim enough that they can be worn a number of different ways with different outfits. They were in the Mr P. sale so gave 'em a shot and pleased now that I did
Gawkrodger, same thing happened to me last year, ran into Shuit on the streetcar or saw one of his fine WAYWT pics and was convinced. They are just comfy and good for the winter as well.
Been knocking some things off my grail list recently. Waited a long while for the prosthetic jacket, but that was expected. I chose to have it made in bison based on my experience handling both bison and horse while in NYC last year. The decision was also based on conversations with several CCP owning senior members which provided much insight, and for that, I am grateful. The leather is terribly supple and oily, more so than the bison used in the tornadoes. It broke in within minutes, but the object dye stench has hung around my room for a month now, kind of a reminder that I buy semi-ridiculous stuff on occasion. Usually I size up for CCP tops and when this was ordered, I did so as well. Was worried that it might end up being too large as bison doesn't always shrink as much as horse does (based on observations over the course of the 14 month wait). It seems that ~50% of the CCP bison jackets fit true (based on quoted measurements) and the the rest fit one size small as is often the case with Carol. This one fit about 3/4 of a size small, which is good because the arms are quite slim, slimmer that the scarstitch that I have tried on last year. My only qualm is the direction of the wrist zippers. The pull toggle rests in the lower palm of the hand when closed and is a little annoying (I might have my cobbler reverse them in the future). The pronounced asymmetric arm scarring, as seen in the pictures below, is a nice touch. Overall worth the wait and almost worth the money. Since this is only my second leather jacket of the type discussed and seen on this forum (the other being an oiled lamb BBS), I don't have a very varied perspective on what else is out there, but I like what I got and it fits right, so that is that really matters I suppose. Now I have to wait until fall to wear it a little more.
The other thing that came off list, was one of opportunity or dumb luck, rather than careful planning, saving and waiting. As seen in the classified's in a really tiny photo:
