If you want it cleaner, I say just tuck them away in the pockets and roll up the lining. I have the S/S version (recently altered) with the same tassels. Sometimes I tuck them in, sometimes I let them hang. Theoretically they could be used to close the pockets. They don't bother me too much though.

Tokyo has been kind to me. Picked up the two pieces I was after from YY, the 'Che' db jacket and the grey silk coat - tentatively the last season I'll be buying from him. Also a few YY bargains from Space&Co and Monotone, a pair of heavy wool gabardine pants that were basically new for 60% off retail and a wool chinese-collared cardigan for $80.
Found an interesting book called Senseware Tokyo Fiber '09, a Japanese exhibition on innovative fabrics, textiles and their applications, which I kopped as well as Joseph Beuys Coyote and some random CDs.
