Maybe they are noticing the attention that he is giving them, it sounds like he is checking out all these "gay guys (or gay looking guys)."

If you think about it, aren't we all doing this here on this forum? :) Guys checking what other guys are wearing / have purchased and showing the other guys what they are wearing / have purchased. I'm sure it's all you've been doing (with your only 20 posts since 2010) :)

20 this time, a couple hundred deleted. Personally I'm here for the clothing and discussion. I try not to assume things of others, as I wouldn't want others to assume things of me. Considering how I dress people often have preconceptions about me especially in my field.

Someone who got kicked out of Maxwells for excess autism, subsequently glancing the designers and their work subforum and writing the guide, followed by a well deserved ban.

Are you serious? If so is there any more to that story you can tell, like what excess autism is or what their username was?

I think faust's post highlights an issue that this entire thread is based around, the way that people feel that they "know" someone based off of their appearance. I don't see why it is so prevalent in society, such as the profiling in high end retail stores thread, and don't think it allows for you to learn anything other then your biases. It's a quite odd concept, and although many here get such treatment now we hear the other side. Kinda like we need a thread for your reaction to other peoples clothes.

This exemplifies my feelings on the subject, for me dressing is a mine field as my stylistic choices often run the risk torpedoing my academic studies. It's quite asinine how different the treatment is that I receive when the sole difference is my attire. Normally I see the forum as a place to escape from the judgement heaped upon me in my daily life, it's a bit sad to see the judgements happen here.

                                But this describes literally everyone.

It is not a question of whether someone does or does not judge, it is a question of degree. We all have deeply held beliefs that are kept on a subconscious level that create emotion and thought. It is not necessarily a conscious process, these feelings are formed by the mind automatically. The fact is, the way you look, smell, feel, act and think are all forms of communication.
