So basically what we've learned here is that some people prefer one type of style while others may prefer something else?

I appreciate the fact that nails are a subtle part of every overall aesthetic (not unlike jewelry, etc.) but thankfully, we are all free to do with our nails (and our hair) as we choose.

As long as you're not wearing lip liner, you're good to go.

I think goatees make men look like they're from an education-challenged part of Appalachia, but that's just my own personal opinion. 'Party on my face' and all that. But I would never point that out if someone were wearing one in a WAYWT. I realize that my opinion probably says more about me than about anyone else.

People prefer different styles, thankfully. Be respectful enough to understand that and the issue is solved. Fingernails seem like minutia, but then again, I chew mine down to the quick.
And while I do think that subtleties can certainly add to an outfit, if you get too caught up in details and you can analyze the fun out of the whole thing.
