Quite a few exist and a handful of people are making decent repros (but most repros suck nuts). It's just a matter of finding antique militaria dealers in your area; Google or maybe pick up a phone book to find dealers, festivals, or enthusiast groups that can point you in the right direction.

http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/ , http://www.koutny-cz.eu/ , and http://www.atthefront.com/ make great repros, you just have to be careful because some of the boots have weird toeboxes and many of the clothes have unusual proportions that will simply never work outside of a reenactment context.

I had a link for a dealer of genuine antiques for pennies on the dollar, but you have to place a minimum order of something like a few dozen pairs. I'll have to find it again.

Yeah, I learnt that most repros are really bad. Thanks for the links, might come in handy :) And when it comes to authentical ones apart from finding those dealers I'll need to talk to members of my family, quite a military tradition so maybe that could lead me to a pair some way. Acquired a few nice pieces these way so far. Shame most are unwearable for me because of size diffrence and such but I treasure them and will for years to come, surely. Especially loving an early 20s vest that went trough three generations before it got to me. The damn thing is like new, makes one really appreciate a good quality garment.

Chris, while I don't see a single problem in your preferences for friends or partners, I don't understand why you'd mind if someone had some different ones. If aesthetics plays an important part in one's life, and if they think they can enjoy in a relationship only if it allows for exchanging thoughts about it, what's wrong about that? This really depends on what kind of person someone is. I know people who can't stand being with someone (in a relationship) who is working in the same discipline. It makes them feel as choking, and they prefer to set their mind off on completely different topics in their free time. But there are also those who prefer someone that shares the majority of their interests so that they can spend some quality time in what really matters to them the most. And there is nothing wrong with either of these approaches (and they aren't exhaustive of all possible approaches to relationships in any case).
