You mean they are recently talked about brands here? Boots are a year old and purchased before I saw TLC mentioned here, pants are some six months old or so. Sweater is fairly new.

Really? Please point out where it fails if you can be specific. I felt more satisfied and comfortable with this fit than I usually do when heading out the door this morning.

your shoes and shirt look rather povera in contrast to shiny looking pleated cropped dressy pants, there is a rather stark contrast there.

I personally never settle for 'fine' but if you are okay with that then disregard my comments.

Drop crotch pants? Still not sure how I feel with that bit of shin showing between boots and pants, though I guess it's fine since it's summer time now. It always seemed a bit awkward looking, but at this point I've settled with it, since pretty much all mid-shin cropped pants seem to suffer from the same problem.

Otherwise, echoing Faust, longer top would be better, even if it's just because of an "illusion."

I had the same cropped dress pants, didn't wear them for months, and finally handwashed them, dried on hanger, didn't iron. And they turned to casual ones.
But the fabrics of my pants was dirrerent I suppose.

My problem is with the materials, they are like 3 separate things that don't complement each other that well. It's in no way bad but leaves something to be desired in my eyes. Shapewise I kinda like it but I'd prefer chunkier footwear with this getup.

It's not bad at all, only incongruity is the shiny formality of the pants with the beat up nature of the boots. I have a similar problem matching shoes with Rick pants. It's Rick's dirty trick that proportions are just skewed enough that Rick tends to go best with... other Rick. Derbies or even the right low-tops could work (if you don't mind the formality clash) or higher boots a la Rick that meet the hem of the pants.

That said, the pants are fantastic, it's worth the styling fussiness.
