i didn't get this dish: Pork Bellies with Oysters, Kimchi Consomme, Bok Choy</p>

my fiance, who recently broke her 10 year vegetarianism, felt underwhelmed as well. it was good, but not THAT good for me to have gone through the hassle of trying to get reservations. mind you we didn't get the wine pairing and finished the meal in 1hr 20 minutes. the shaved foie gras dish was kinda bizarre. both of ours didn't have the cubed jelly thing in it. the lasagna was fucking dope though.

we're not big drinkers, but the wine didn't appeal to us at the moment. we lapped some of the people eating next to us. ha.</p>

what i meant by i didn't get the pork/oysters dish, was that they didn't serve it to us. i wanted to try that one. </p>

a lot of the food was also lukewarm and salty at times too. and they raised the price of the prix fixe meal from $85 to $100. bastards.</p>

amazing but stuffy; lots of lawyers in anti-ccp suits. ripert is a master for sure, worth doing once, but mermaid inn is my pick for seafood. actually, cape cod is my pick for seafood, but that doesn't count.

that's good to hear. funny you make that anti-ccp comment. i went to cafe boloud for dinner and wore my fencing jacket to the restaurant. talk about anti-ccp.

i hit the electric fence every time i tried to wear ccp above 57th on the east side, but maybe i don't style it right. i'm still without an at bat at boloud's places. bruni likes them, i guess i should give them a shot. 3 ddohnggo stars for the cafe?

cafe boloud was pretty good not amazing. i can't remember what i had exactly, but do remember being a bit underwhelmed (again).</p>

my favorites so for are per se (natch), sushi of gari, perry street bistro (best $25 i've spent) and jean georges for lunch (another great $30 i've spent).</p>

i heard that chang won the james beard award. he's korean so he should've won regardless. ;)</p>
