I hope they put that thing on Vigo Mortensen in at least one The Road scene.

what stops a large-budget production from comissioning poell to go nuts with costume design, by the way?

their lack of expertise, i would presume. it would be cool for sure. i liked what gaultier did for the fifth element. but that was a french director.

                Re: Carol Christian Poell

gaultier also did some great work for "the cook, the thief, his wife and her lover"

the sheer insanity of carol designed costuming would undoubtedly be too much for a hollywood production. I'd love to see him collaborate with an equally powerful aesthetic voice, like the brothers quay (although altieri might be better suited to that particular project). if only tarkovsky was still alive . . .

                  Re: Carol Christian Poell

I'm sure that CCP would go way further if he was charged with costuming an entire production, but it seems like it would be fairly easy to plug RTW Poell into a lot of sci-fi/action/horror movies, Matrix, etc, it's not that unusual...I'm surprised there hasn't been more evidence of that. It seems like I've seen Rick Owens in lots of movies in the past, but maybe it's just the look.

tried that on and was sweating in seconds, the "plastic" layer is like being wrapped in cellophane.

i tried to think on one, and i couldn't. i think your arms first would get really hot. humidity emanates from you.

edit: of course, the cold would probably work, but since its s/s i dunno.

Shame. It looks like it could be sensible, somehow, for 60s/low 70s...a choice of perforated leather or a waterproof artificial hooded lining.

of course one has to pony up $8000 to find out just how temperature functional it really is [90]
