Sorry if this question is not relevant to the topic, but what is the difference between the different leathers from the same origin?

          For example
          BIAS-PTC: Bison
          BIUS-PTC: Bison
          BUUS-PTC: Bison

Or does this relate to different seasons?

BUUS is the sliced bison leather used in his footwear. BIUS is the normal bison used in the footwear and BIAS is a little thinner and used for the jackets. BIAS tends to exhibit a greater amount of scarring when compared to BIUS as well.

Can we talk more about what the different codes are? many of them are identical in the material composition, but what properties do the different fabrics have? Maybe swatches/examples could be a useful resource for people placing custom orders.

Maybe useful? They're absolutely crucial to customs but I doubt Carol and most shops would appreciate that being out here. Not only that, but nearly all of them are gone, thus their codes won't be of any use. What has worked best for me in the past is to decide on the piece, contact a stockist and wait to see what Carol has in stock and suggests. The latter portion of that suggestion is key but I see a lot of people who are reluctant to try something other than the fabric and design that they've envisioned.

Love me some Carol, but this thread is unnecessary on it's own, especially without images. Put it in the designer thread. Maybe mods can put it on the first page for easy access.

Even with pictures it doesn't help much, unless you are able to handle in person or get the swatches.

....completely agree with peasants and magics point below + I assume it's full of mistakes considering the first entry of Aca-edge is wrong.....

                              Still....As a reference point, I see it's benefits.
