Guidi Sidezips in soft horse (696)- the left boot's zipper didn't lock well, and would drop to halfway down the boot during walking.

Good things PNP has done: allowed me to return even though they'd been vibrammed before I tested them out during walking. They've been ridiculously nice/ polite through this

Irritating things that have happened: Italy is charging me customs on returned goods, and it cost $60 to send the boots back. Neither is a huge deal, but combined they mean I'm paying probably $200 extra for whatever pair I do eventually grab.

Also Italian customs has held on to the boots for a week.

Overall thoughts: PNP is awesome, Italian customs are a PITA, I want my boots. And I suspect the quality issue is pretty isolated.

brought from aloha rag. And just received high neck intarsia in sz 48 today. It's fit smaller than blistered safari 46. So I think the sizing depends on the model, not the size tag most likely.

for jacket its hard to say, this may need to go to the CCP thread,
but i heard that carol always has thick leather on all of his shoes, also there is the variant that he can make shoes out of "cordovan" so that would be strongest imo for shoes, don't know if he makes jackets out of cordovan

why not ask whoever's selling it?

you're turning buying a jacket into a world crisis...if you like it, just buy it.

is there any way to restore rigidity to pants that were softened by a hot wash & dry? it's my understanding that cornstarch would only further ruin the fabric...

Would there be any difference getting it done professionally by an expert or is it the same result DIY? (Don't want to end up tearing the leather belt apart in the short run or long run)

I'd say LC. LG is much more grainy.

^ thats what they use but sometimes they can finish the inside edges of the hole so theres no leather fraying.

Can you explain how they do that (finishing the inside edge)? Do they just shave it down a bit or add some sort of protective solution etc

yes, i use that puncher often. its easy, just make sure to align the hole exactly where you want it (mark it with a pen), go in straight and strong on the first grip. my leather never frays from it, actually the hole will be very sharp and and sliced clean. practice on something beforehand to get your technique down but really, its pretty fail safe.

yea, its easy to use. also, once its pressed down, you can rotate the puncher while holding pressure to make sure it has cut all the way through.
