well, i have to agree with mona on this one...that manicure is part of an outfit. it's just that it's hard to see from a male's perspective, since we usually do not wear nail polish or manicures, but to a lady it's just as much of a conscious decision in her outfit as her shoes or scarf.

Sorry, I will add a description. (inspired by interest1)

Obscur leather shirt. Unlined lamb leather with rusting. The hide had a rusting treatment done to it, so no two shirts are the same. Antiqued silver buttons run up the front, with 5 or so extending down the cuff. Give off a very "staple-like" quality. Very long sleeves which were the #1 selling point for me. Being 6`4, and having 31 inch arms can sometimes make finding something that fits quite difficult. I also should point out that I have not experienced any disintegration of fibers from the inside, as was once presumed.

Nicolas and Mark tank. Very soft and extremely comfortable cashmere blend. Essentially a rick owens rip off, with raw scalloped hems and singular seam running down the back.

DRKSHDW aircut jeans, in spray treated blue/grey (dust). These are double layered to the knee, where they break away like your typical berlin cut. Far and away the most commented on piece I own, with good reason. Perfect for this time of year, these really add a layer of warmth when the wind whips up. A zipper runs down one leg, which allows for some creative ways to wear the jeans.

Being 6`4, and having 35 inch arms can sometimes make finding something that fits quite difficult.

It's disproportionate to have 27.5" arms (shirt size 15.75x36.5 in my case) at 6'2". I can only imagine the nightmare of finding 35" sleeves.

my SO doesn't have a single female friend of note for this very reason.

I am going to blow this up further, since we haven't had a good fight on SZ in a while.

I was talking to Laika the other day and she was wondering out loud why her friends tend to be male. And I said that I think it's because women tend to be petty, while men are more generous. Your comment is the kind of thing that confirms my opinion. And I've seen it from various women, time and again - the remarks they make about other women's appearance are so minute and inconsequential that they sometimes jolt me. Maybe it's the immense pressure that society puts on women to look beautiful to the degree that guys would never do - I don't know, but it is off-putting for me and pitiful too. I suppose it's a similar reaction to that of Veronique Branquinho's who wants her man not to be too interested in fashion, multiplied by a factor of 1000.

Maybe it's because women are insecure about what other women think about them, and know that pretty much every male friend will find them attractive in some, however, deep-rooted, way, thus explaining the "generosity"?
