Uh well I am too used to discussion i guess. Just some days ago there was this discussion about how male members of this forum react towards female outfits..and someone said something along the line "who cares?". The point is.. if you don't try to see things from a different perspective, you might end up stuck on your opinion not knowing you were false all along.

I'd personally NEVER wear a fake. But you know why? cuz i like the feeling of wearing something expensive, something thought-through, something with details no1 cares about save me and soem fellow fashion victims on some unimportant website and mabye a piece of art. Very shallow reasons if you ask me.

however i'd like to ask you a question. Those items you got? did you pay full retail? would you have any qualms cheating your stockist, i.e. buying on sale? Cuz he is not making profit when you buy them on sale (rent/salery) or on ebay, neither does Rick make any profit if you buy the rip off. Another strange comparison i guess.

Now let's suppose...there is this japanese "it" brand you never heard of, and there are korean rip-offs of that same brand. Now that guy wearing this amazing coat walks by, having you drooling all over it... later on you happen to talk to the same guy and he admits it is a rip off. So what about ur initial response now. naturally _you_ would retract that ...question is just why and how much does it make sense from an objective point of view?

nice jeans but awww man....the 'D' top....sorry dude, can't cosign you on that one. I occasionally wear some of my DH pieces like I did today, but I think the whole package in one go...about 3 years too late. I am all for classic and timeless design, but sometimes there comes a time when the relationship is over. Nobody ever said heartbreak was easy...

What happened to people saving up for things they wanted? What happened to real desire? I've been a member of Superfuture for going on four years now and have been a Raf / Rick / Etc... addict for perhaps just as long. It took me three years of saving andthrifting and re-selling to finally be able to start affording their pieces (even on eBay) like the Rick Sneakers / Jacket I bought just recently. I still can't afford a Rick leather - although if I start saving again I could in a year or two most likely. I could probably buy a Black Scissors jacket right now, but I'm not going to. Why? Because I have standards.

Which I thought was the entire point of this forum.

Word. You nailed it. I think though you guys dissected noerml a bit too much. It looks like his main point, which he might not get across, is that we attribute too much to people who work in probably one of the most amoral industries. Anyway, sometimes maybe I prefer not to know about all the shit that goes on behind the scenes. La-la-land, I love Ann.

In some rare occasions I will fit a 52... need to check the moto one out then.

6ft5...i feel you brother, due to my lankiness my shoulders can support a 48, but length is a problem most of the time...esp. sleeve/body. Which is why I missed out on most of the DH golden era action, their suits fit me like a glove but i could barely squeeze myself into any other kind of jacket by Hedi. Weird. The only designer who i can fit into most of his stuff comfortably is Yohji, probably explains why I gravitate to his work.

baby: yeah classic Hedi from YSL and early Dior, which I unfortunately have only experienced through pictorials, is a look that won't ever really age and should be worn by youths all over the world who got that 'fuck today/tomorrow/forever' nonchalant attitude. But the hypebeast DH look was never that fresh, especially the last part of it, the pristine clean white sneakers which I could not stand the most. In today's climate, it feels even more stale.

thank you faust. I guess i sometimes trail off too much and rather think aloud rather than trying to organise my thoughts. And maybe you should indeed move this to the "rip-off thread" as it is not my intention to distrub this thread.

What i meant was like you said:

When it comes to fakes/rip-offs, be careful not to defend fashion industry but your own standards. And those standards may vary in such a way, that a rip-off becomes acceptable and/or a compromise between standard and funds is made necessary. Authenticy should be a trade-off for superior quality and design and not a shiny holgram- card tagged to your garment or the illusion of superior quality.

Since we're on this topic of sizing/body types, kunk75 i don't think you always look great in Raf all the time, but one thing that amazes me is how the tailoring manages to FIT on you, something I have never been able to accomplish in my 4 or so odd years of Raf jacket trying

^haha. thanks. his suiting rarely if ever fits me but i can generally tell by the way a jacket is constructed if there is some left over fabric to have the armholes opened up a bit. i find his pre 06 tailoring to be a bit more generously cut. armholes seem to have gotten higher and higher.

he is generally not my first choice for tailored pieces. prada suits still fit me the best. raf pants and knitwear and the more oversized outerwear do me fine though.

the rick jacket i suggest you look into is the motorcycle jacket with the epaulets and long arms. i bought this jacket last season in size LARGE and sold it to a friend who's 6'4 and 52 chest. it was too big and long for me (the waist was too low and the sleeves hung over my knuckles like i was a gorilla) but on him the jacket was perfect: the sleeves lined up and the waist was dead on. i think this particular jacket in xl will be great for you and the style is classic. they have it at luisaviaroma.

This outfit brought to you for less than the price of one CCP boot.

The blazer is intentionally a bit boxy, but it looks even more top heavy due to the up angle.

Hehe thank you. The thing is that Luster&Strip got me started in the whole fashion stuff some years ago :) And at that time I was a teenager that could not afford expensive cothes. Well for me the whole Dior look that was created after 04 sucked. 05 was ok but I really cant stand the rest. And as of now I have not found any other Designer where I love almost every piece on the runway.
So I live in Germany and people here dont care much about fashion :-) Guess no one knows that my stuff is 4 years old haha or even what brand it would be
