Found a hole in my FS scarf recently too...yet to have it mended, but did some research...

Me too. It's almost expected with some of them. The fabrics being so thin and all. If it's the style with tatered edges I think a few holes are Ok. hardly visible when worn wrapped around, but as a shawl it's obviously different. You can place a small stich on each end of the hole in attempts to stop the spreading. Probably make it worse, though.

Yeah, it's the style with kinda tattered edges...the hole's not obvious when worn, but it still bugs me, i'll probably get it mended after winter...

damm, let me do some little research I might come up with a solution. Insulate the walls it's not enough I'm afraid.

if the walls were more sound proof downstairs, I think it would prevent the noise from travelling so many floors up. however this doesn't seem to be an option sadly, and padding the walls on our floor probably wouldn't help much. plus its actually a wall with a window, if it was just a plain square wall, I'd add a layer of "wool" and sheetrock.

I know what coffee withdrawal feels like. I gave it up for tea months and months ago, but still deviate once in awhile. Like Tuesday evening when I had two cups of black coffee after dinner with a friend. I was buzzed in like 3 minutes.
