There seems to be a lot of concern over the toebox -- it is, in my opinion, what makes his designs fairly unique. His toeboxes are rounded and bent upwards, and in that sense fairly non-standard. This is less noticeable in the boots, and more noticeable in the derbies, where cordovan will seem to hold the "curve" the most.
The shape of the shoe though, seems to offer a fairly comfortable fit -- I wear mine with insoles as they fit fairly tts, if half a size large and they would be fine with or without the soles.
