that was even more foul than typical red carpet small talk, jesus christ, I made it 20s in before I gave up.
It's interesting how many new people that get incredibly excited suddenly over Margiela, and Diesel willingly let h&m shit all over the people owning the original pieces in favor of the crowd jumping on the this strange hype train
As the great Lana Del Rey sings
      "i'll love you more,
      than those bitches before,
      say you'll remember"
I do not recognise the vessel,
but the eyes seem so familiar

Ok, that's enough. I deleted some posts, not because they were not entertaining but because they derailed one of the most interesting discussions we've had in a while. There will be no more Lana del Rey posts here.

and probably because they also highlighted an illogical sense of elitism that seems to pervade this forum

i'm pretty sure ms. rosenrot and i were on to something, but whatever

The sense of elitism that undoubtedly pervades this forum is very logical. And if you really are not a troll than you will take care to learn it. Deal?

I don't remember seeing any numbers disclosed anywhere. Maybe the hype is the payoff.

Anyway, wondering what the labels on this would look like.
Never mind that assumption. From the NYT

"While few details about financial relationships have ever been made public, the typical fees paid to designers have generally more than doubled over the last five years, according to several participants in recent deals, though each seems to follow its own rules. Mr. Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney, who designed an H&M collection in 2005, were each reportedly paid $1 million for their services; and Madonna, whose M by Madonna collection was sold there in 2007, was said to have received $4 million. (Billboard reported in 2007 that sales of Madonna’s collection, which was broader than most, reached $20 million.)"

Was in a shop tonight and overheard two people talking about and looking at Margiela's mainline work,

"It's stuff that nobody would ever wear but, you know, its nice that they're doing it."

                            Resisted every urge to interrupt...

                              not surprising but still depressing
which I guess brings up the fact that the H&M/MMM was most likely made using this labor.

                                Margiela cheat sheet

Surprised that this was written by Another, and not Lucky or Cosmo etc. No mention of the maison's history, just a shortcut for the new consumers to look like longtime fans of the house.
