Got Timbuktu today, purely because it was mentioned here.
Also got CT's Spiritus Sancti room spray as a present. Totally forgot the odeur de lune which I first discovered at L'Eclaireur.
And finally sampled some of CB IHP's fragrances after I didn't manage to cross the road to go to the Brooklyn store a few weeks ago. Not as bowled over as I was hoping to be, although the cut grass one is insanely present.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

I accidentally splashed diesel on my hands filling the car.

      CDG is missing a trick.

But at 1.90 a liter they may have to adjust pricing upwards.

Maybe you haven't tried CDG's "Garage".

Ooh, I imagine a dirty wood note of oud would complement Avignon nicely. Maybe I'll just pick up some oud oil for layering and use straight up Avignon for daily wear.

Same here! My gf says it smells like an outhouse for the first 30 minutes, which it kind of does, but it dries down into an amazingly soft and woody oud. Have been layering it with the samples of Avignon and the La Labo oud that i have and it really works well. I still wish the Avignon didn't have the sweet/vanilla notes though.

I don't remember if I posted about it but I also started making some spice extracts into ethanol and trying to blend some of the oud in but it's a LITTLE bit much right now. Need to get some other essential oils from the same market including maybe a rose to soften it a bit.

Just goes to show you how much profit companies like Le Labo and Montale are making if a shitty $5 oil smells just as good.

They make a few decent scents, but not worth they money or hype...also, their stupid "mixing the scent in front of you" concept is bs.

Patchouli (which is a leather) Iris (which is patchouli), Bergamot (floral actually), and Oud are decent (in that order). The rest are meh.

That's one scent I have a love/hate relationship with. It has some familiar feel to it that I can relate to, even though I don't have any history of fixing cars or anythin...

Not to say that this will solve it for you, but it might give you an idea of the differing opinions on it: http://www.nstperfume.com/2010/08/18...grance-review/
Why do you have to go to the store when you got it as a gift?
